About NLCC

New Life Christian Center was founded in the heart of Bishop Otis Alston, under the direction and guidance of the Holy Spirit, who operates overwhelmingly through him. It is however, established upon the foundation of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Pastor Alston has been given a special anointing to lay hands on the sick and they recover, through the spirit which dwells in him.  He has also been given an uncanny ability to break the Word down with such simplicity that even a child can receive it.

At New Life it is taught that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and should be applied to the life of every Christian. We believe in the Trinity, the Father (God), the son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (Spirit). God came to Earth in the flesh in His son, Jesus, who was born of a virgin, and reigned on the earth until his crucifixion.  He died for our sins, was raised on the third day to fulfill the scriptures and now sits at the right hand of God, making intercession for us. We further believe that Jesus will return and rapture those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

We Believe…

We believe… the scriptures. 1 Timothy 16, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

We believe...one has to be "Born Again" or "Saved".  John 3:3, Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.  Romans 10:9, That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

We believe…in water baptism.  Acts 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We believe...in the infilling of Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Acts 2:4, And they were filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We believe…in worship.  John 4:24, God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  Matthew 22:37, Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

We believe... in operating in faith.  Mark 11:22-24, And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.  For verily I say to you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

We believe...in tithing and giving offerings.  Malachi 3:10  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in thine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.  Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you:  good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom.

We believe…in divine healing.  Mark 16:18...they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  Isaiah 53:5, But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our inequities; The chastisement of out peace was upon Him, Any by his stripes we are healed.

We Do…

We do...lift our hands to the Lord.  Psalms 134:2, Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.  Psalm 63:4, Thus I will bless thee while I live:  I will lift up my hands in thy name.

We do... give praise with our voices.  Psalm 34:1, I will bless the Lord at all time: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.  Hebrews 13:15, By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is , the fruit of his lips giving thanks to his name.

We do...sing, shout and dance before the Lord.  Psalm 66:1-2 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands; Sing forth the honor of his name; make his praise glorious.  Psalm 149:3 Let him praise His name in the dance...

We do…stand when we sing.  Psalms 135:2-3, Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God. Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

We do…bow down and kneel. Psalms 95:6, O come let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

We do…prophesy.  1 Corinthians 14:3, But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.  1 Corinthians 14:31, For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be comforted.

We do...operate in the Gifts of the Spirit.  1 Corinthians 12: 8-11, For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another  the Word of knowledge by the same Spirit;  To another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working or miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues; But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
